The objective of this course is to allow the chimney technician to improve customer satisfaction by education. With this information the homeowner will burn less wood by burning efficiently and produce less smoke. This course will cover the health impacts of wood smoke, Wood combustion basics and the importance of moisture content in the wood burned. Basic appliance types will be discussed along with EPA requirements for new wood burning appliances. In this course we will introduce the EPA’s Burnwise program and how a chimney technician can utilize those materials to educate homeowners to proper burning techniques.
