Chapter 13 of the International Residential Code (IRC) covers general mechanical requirements. Topics included in this presentation include listing & label of appliances, label requirements, clearance requirements & clearance reduction systems, access requirements for service & repair, elevation of appliances for both explosion protection and flood resistance, protection of appliances, drilling & notching of structural members in the course of installation, and protection of concealed utilities with striker plates. This seminar is presented in four narrated videos totaling 64 minutes. A quiz at the end of the course tests the students comprehension of the material. This course is approved by CSIA for 1.25 Codes & Standards CEU’s and approved by NFI for 1.25 Technical CEU’s.
